Here's my review of The Best Life Book Club by Sheila Roberts.

If you're looking for a synopsis of this book, you'll have to look elsewhere. Let me start by saying that I have probably read every word published by Sheila Roberts. I'd say written, but hey, even though I picked up the first book I read by her sometime around 2010, sadly I'm not an early reader. I actually listened to an audio version of this book, which was most excellent.

I have never been in a book club, probably because I figured out early on that I truly hate required reading and over the years, I've read very little non-fiction. But more recently, my reading tastes have matured in that I've read several non-fiction books and this book club, were it real, is different in that it may be of interest to me, were it real. I also must put in a plug for the literary references, that is quotes in this book from other books, real or imagined.

If you like women's fiction, beach (heck anytime) reads, and books about relationships, this book will not fail to satisfy you as will any of Sheila's books. Also, I've read my fair share of supposed rom-coms where the protagonists are so broken and have so much drama going on that I'm not a huge fan of their all of a sudden figuring things out when they meet the partner of their dreams. While this story had some drama, I am a huge fan of several genres but perhaps mostly happily-ever-afters. I mean honest to Pete, it still beats anything in the news these days. This book did not disappoint.

I will say that in the interest of full disclosure, I am a member of Sheila Roberts' street team, however, In hopes to save her money in shipping etc., and due to personal reasons, I have asked her to send me the e version of the books rather than a hard copy. Well, long story short, I actually found the audio at my local library before she could get it to me, so that's what I read. Even though it was not necessary for me, Sheila kindly sent me the goodies that she sent the balance of the street team. As always, she asks that we honestly review. And if Sheila is reading this, I'm still looking to read Murial Sterling's books!
