Having enjoyed multiple books by each author, I knew this book would be well-worth my time. These are unique and meaningful stories -- enjoyable during Christmas, or at any other time. Enjoy.

Colorado Wife by Cheryl St.John
Restaurant owner Rosalyne Emery finds a pair of orphans outside. It is winter and times are tough, the people keeping them could no longer afford to feed them. When Rosalyne finds out that their father was a miner who got a grubstake from the local tycoon, she decides that Sam Calhoun needs to take ownership. If Sam had not lent the money, the children's father would still be alive, caring for his kids.

When she marches over to Sam's home a party is doing on, she is introduced as Sam's fiancee. This is more than Rosalyne bargained for and she wants to correct the error with Sam's friends. Sam talks her out of it and the fun begins.

Jubal's Gift by Elizabeth Lane
Elizabeth Lane proves that short stories can encompass major issues. Jubal Trask has come to Thomas Curry's home to kill him. The issue started in the Civil War when Thomas abandoned his best friend, who was severely injured in a major battle. Later on, Jubal learned that Thomas married Jubal's intended wife; recently she has died (after several years of marriage).

When Jubal arrives at Thomas' farm, the only ones there are Thomas' two children and Thomas' sister, Tess. She gave up her life to come and tend her brother's children. Tess has been in love with Jubal since their childhood years.

Until Christmas by Mary Burton
After her beloved grandfather dies in the silver mine he owns, Laura Butler decides to move back East and give the mine to grandfather's second-in-command, Roman Maddox. Maddox has grown up in the school-of-hard-knocks and understands Laura's grief. He also understands that she is taking a life-changing step to deal with a temporary problem. Laura's actions are integral to the comfort and welfare of the mining families. Roman only has 4 days to change her mind.
