Friday the Rabbi Slept Late
Author: Harry Kemelman
Rabbi David Small, the new leader of Barnard's Crossing's Jewish community, can't even enjoy his Sabbath without things getting stirred up in a most unorthodox manner. It seems a young nanny is found strangled less than a hundred yards from the Temple's parking lot, and all the evidence points to the Rabbi . . .

This is a very interesting book. The mystery is quite absorbing.

I read this series many years ago. I am not sure why I decided to read it again, but glad I did. It is a simple 'cozy' mystery. It is the first book so it uses a lot of pages to set the scene; educate the reader about Jewish faith; and then, weave in the mystery. Hopefully, the second book will have more mystery and less background. To be continued. Recommend.
