A young widow, Melinda Monroe, still in her grieving period
moves from the big city to a small, very quaint country town
to serve a nurse and midwife for a cantankerous old doctor
who says he doesn't need help like the woman who recruited her
said. She also discovers that The lovely country home that was described to her is a house with broken porches and the house
is filthy inside. Not at all what she expected.
Melinda decides she will leave in the morning. The doc is
