Born in Toronto, Ontario, she is a graduate of the University of Toronto. As Joy Tepperman, she had a brief acting career, appearing in the film Winter Kept Us Warm (1965) and in an episode of Gunsmoke. She later changed her last name to Fielding (after Henry Fielding) and began writing novels.
Fielding is also the screenwriter of the television film The Silken Laumann Story.
The Other Woman (1983) The Other Woman was made into a film for Lifetime Television entitled Joy Feilding's The Other Woman. The film adaptation stars Jason Priestley, Josie Bissett and Ted Whittall. The project was directed by Jason Priestley.
