This book is THE best, most heartwarming, laugh out loud book I have read in a really long time. You do not need to own a dog (but should probably like them) to appreciate this book and the story. I laughed so hard at some points in this book that others around me commented on what I could be reading. I highly recommend it, but you should also be warned to have your tissues ready! LOVED IT!!

Loved this book! I laughed out loud several times. Maybe because I've owned to golden labs in my life, but it was a hoot!

Anyone who has had their own "heart-dog" better have a box of tissues handy... the highs are high, but the lows will hit you hard...

This is the BEST story about a dog that I have ever read. I laughed out loud, cried, was horrified, touched, and couldn't put this book down until I read the whole thing. My dog Barley also has a psychotic fear of thunderstorms-he tries to jump out the windows! Had I read this book before I named him, I would have named him Marley instead of Barley. Anyone who has ever loved a dog will LOVE this book.

Marley may be closer to the dog of your nightmares than your dreams, but he endears himself to the young couple who adopts him and teaches them the true meaning of love. If you love dogs, you'll love this book.

âMarley & Me: Life and Love with the World's Worst Dog John Groganâ

I give this book Two Paws Up. Loved it!!! I've listened to it on CD no less than five times.

âMarley & Meâ will take you on adventures that will make you laugh so hard you cry. It is a âMust Readâ for anyone who owns a Labrador. You will develop a special bond with Marley and John. I think every dog owner, or everyone who thought of owning a dog should read this wonderful book.

The only hard part for me was towards the end of the book as Marley aged, just as all lifelong companions do. I could relate to all that Marley (the dog) was dealing with and the questions and answers of John & his family. Like I told my friends, if you need to stop before the last chapter or twoâ¦.you will still have a wonderful read.

For myself, I am happy that I did not stop reading as Marley aged. The last chapter touched my heart. If you can deal with the age issueâ¦.get a box of tissues and read on.

Also you may want to note there are two versions of this book:

(1) âMarley & Me: Life and Love with the World's Worst Dog John Groganâ (First book?)

(2) Marley: A Dog Like No Other - Reading Level: Ages 9-12 (same storyâ¦but age appropriate for younger readers)

I have both versions and I've enjoyed both. This is one book (or 2) I will be keeping for myself and will be buying copies to give as gifts.

I enjoyed this tale of the author's life with Marley. The humor and love that his family had for each other and the dog was apparent. It was worth reading.

I enjoyed this book so much I could hardly put it down. I found myself rearranging my schedule to find more time to read. I too went from at one time having the "perfect dog" to currently having one of the wildest out of control dogs I have ever seen. Like Marley, we love him in spite of or because of his shortcomings. This book will touch your heart with joy and sadness, sometimes both at the same time (my favorite emotion: laughter through tears) ... because it truly is about life and love.

Read this with a box of tissue nearby. You'll be laughing one moment and crying the next. A wonderful tale for woof lovers. Marley is wonderfully quirky and lovable. You'll want a copy for your library and to give as a gift.

This was the perfect book for me to read right now. Of course, it brought me to tears numerous times, but in reading Grogan's eulogy to his dog, it brought back so many memories of my Buns. And Grogan really described exactly how I ache right now. I just hurt and he really captured that pain in beautiful words. But it also shed light on the pains that an elderly dog goes through and I wish so, so much that my Buns could've gone grey, deaf and blind, though a part of me acknowledges that I should be thankful that in that way, he was spared a lot of pain. He was running around less than 24 hours before his body collapsed and shut down, so I suppose there is some comfort in that. My poor, poor little Bunsy-baby...

Wow - get the tissues out when you read this - especially if you have senior dogs. This book is so well written - makes you feel like you personallly know the entire family. It was a keeper that's for sure.

Wonderful book. You really fall in love with this dog. A million emotions went through me while reading this book. I laughed, cried, and got angry all at once. Recently went and saw the movie and it really didn't do the book justice in my opinion.
