Take this review with a grain of salt--I never finished the book, nowhere near. My opinion is that Pynchon'sonly worthwhile book is "V." His sophomore efforts at 18th century language, his immature humor his showoffy style, his general incomprehensibility makes this book a chore to read which is sad because one imagines that's not at all what he intended. YMMV though. And what do I know?
