Story is written after the fact with notes of foreshadowing seamlessly included. I don't care for horses, but that did not take away from my enjoyment of the story. There is an interesting mix of characters; I particularly liked Jack, who although he was blind, was not disabled. The book is about a relationship slipping away, as life carries on.
