I have given this book to several friends for as many reasons: It is a well-written memoir by a man whose voice and face is familiar from NPR and ABC. It is also and articulate description of life after a spine-severing accident. It is engaging and sometimes humorous account by a man learning to deal with the world as it learns to deal with him and his wheelchair.
