DNF @ 45%. Normally, I'm not one to write a review, but in this case I have to make an exception. Truth be told, I was really enjoying this book, until I got to a scene where a character convinces themself that the sex being FORCED on them is NOT the other person's fault; they're just "enjoying it too much to stop themselves..." Words fail on how absolutely WRONG that is!
I'm open about being a victim of attempted rape and the mental damage it caused me (because people need to get rid of the stigma and be more aware), and this just hit far too close to home. I skipped to the end of the scene, and even tried reading 2 more chapters beyond, but I just couldn't get it out of my mind!
I feel compelled to write this review for others out there who would be personally reminded of their own experience; also knowing the damage it could cause to those that have not yet healed. Like a ticking time-bomb just waiting for an unsuspecting reader... I cannot finish this book for my own mental health.
