This book is a short read at only 80 pages, suitable for one single reading session - which is how I read it one evening while giving my daughters a bath.
Hybels draws on his own experiences in over 30 years in Ministry. Throughout the book he outlines several of what would be considered by many today to be "laws" of Leadership, and then citing instances in the Bible where Jesus would break these laws and do the unexpected. He continues to cite examples of how time after time in his own Ministry he would make mistakes, and the successes or consequences that would ensue.
He finally arrives on the main theme of the book, that whenever Discipleship collides with the laws of Leadership - you must always choose Discipleship. That when you come to a crossroad where your personal desires, your training or your emotions conflict, - you must always submit to and obey the Bible and The Holy Spirit.
I would recommend this book to all Christians, not just to leaders as it can apply to anybody who is involved in Discipleship. Likewise, I would recommend the author Bill Hybels to others. I am eager to read more of his work.
