A good book to read about what living on Cuba was like before and after the revolution and how it affected the lives of the wealthy. Characters were well developed and likeable - or not so much. A look back on a different way of life. I would recommend it.

Set amid the tumultuous 1960's with the overthrow of Batista and rise of Castro in Cube, the Bay of Pigs invasion, the missile crisis and the assassination of John Kennedy. Beatriz Perez and her once powerful sugar empire family are exiled to Florida when Castro overthrows Batista's government. But her heart will always be in Cuba, especially after the murder of her brother.
