As Sookie Stackhouse is recovering from the injuries she suffered at the hands of the faeries, she agrees to let the Weres use her property when the moon is full. She is startled when one of the Weres tells her that he could smell that a Faery had been in her woods, especially since the door to Faery has been closed. He also told her that there was a body buried on her property. Soon her Fae cousin, Claude, shows up on her doorstep, asking if he could move in for a little while. Sookie wonders if he is the Faery wondering in her woods, or if there are more Fae in the area.

Dead in the Family is an appropriate title for this book which deals with all kinds of family problems. Sookie is dealing with her cousin moving in. Eric is paid a visit by his "father" who has brought along a new "brother" for Eric. Sam is dealing with the fallout of his people finding out they have shifters in their family. Bill is dealing with his family, both alive and dead. And everyone is trying to help Sookie figure out who buried a body on her property.

I'm surprised by the negative reviews about this book. I thought this was a very solid entry in the series. It may not have as much action as some of the previous books, but the various threads are interesting and kept me entertained. My rating: 4.5 Stars.
