The premise and concept of this book is extremely clever. However the execution is less than stellar. The author tries admirably to have his dialogue sound authentically late 18th century. For me, this makes the book difficult to read and it felt like a long, slow crawl to the final reveal.

In tone and structure, this book is very reminiscent of an Agatha Christie novel or an early Holmes mystery, so if you enjoy those, I believe you will enjoy this book.

Like I said, it's not bad, I just had some problems with the language structure, but this makes a fun read during Christmastime.
