Novels by William Bernhardt are renown for surprising twists and great suspense. In this book, Susan Pulaski enlists the aid of the autistic son of the police chief who is an idiot savant. The murders occur in Las Vegas and in each case there is a mathematical equation written in the victim's blood. Darcy O'Bannon helps Susan with the mathematics while she uses her behavioral knowledge to track down the killer. As the plot advances, the scenes become more macabre and more compelling because they are more cryptic. It is a modern "who dun it" that is well-written and has sympathetic main characters who complement each other very well. Try to solve the numerical mysteries if you dare!!
