Walters writings has focused primarily on writing from young adult's perspectives of Canadian historical events. He has written over 60 books, and has won dozens of awards.

Eric Walters now resides in Mississauga, Ontario with his wife, Anita, and children, Christina, Nicholas, and Julia.
