The Heretic's Daughter (Audio CD) (Unabridged)
Review Date: 6/12/2020

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is a very realistic account of happenings in Colonial America. Especially intriguing is that the author is a descendant of the main character so it is based on fact.

Hitler, My Neighbor: Memories of a Jewish Childhood, 1929-1939
Review Date: 3/11/2023

All I can say is "eye-opening". What a way to grow up, knowing that your neighbor was trying to take over the country! To have even lived through the experience is amazing. Hard to put down.

The Hour I First Believed (Audio CD) (Unabridged)
Review Date: 6/7/2023

How the Columbine shooting is related to future events is very well shown. Great way to show the severity of PTSD and how it can impact a person for life. I totally did not expect the climax. After that, though, the ending was almost a letdown.

Great book! It was great to see the personal side of Jackie Kennedy. This book made her seem so real and not the image that the media tried to promote.

Very thought-provoking. The author has very complex personal relationships between the characters. He also sheds light on corporate cover-ups and mistreatment of workers. It reminds me of the writing of Upton Sinclair with a bit of Catherine MArshall's "Christy" mixed in.

Excellent book. It is an objective view of Laura Ingalls Wilder covering the facts of her life Vs. the way she portrayed them in her books. Looked carefully at the way her daughter influenced her writing and the controversy over who actually wrote the books.

I look at Lyndon Johnson that I had never seen before. My perception of him was not very positive. At the beginning of the book I started to see a different side of him and started to change my opinion. Then by the end my former opinion started to resurface. A very complex and conflicting person.

Review Date: 2/25/2014

Dr. Maier has created an intriguing mystery using Biblical facts to enhance what is taking place in the novel. Having read "A Skeleton in God' Closet" previously helped me to understand the references he makes to the "earlier Case" but it is not necessary to have read the previous book. This book was one of those "I can't put it down until I'm finished" stories.
