We have an absolutely horrendous situation at theTaylor County Animal Shelter in Campbellsville, KY - which is a shelter for four counties.  There have been rumors for years about the horrible  abuse the animals at this shelter have suffered by the shelter director.  Animals are being thown in the incinerator alive and/or buried alive.  There are numerous other reports of inhumane treatment.  The person who "squealed" was an inmate who was working there on a work release program.  He had tried for months to get this out in the open but unfortunatelyhe shelter is in a small rural town and politics plays a large part.  None of the "powers to be" want to step on toes and do anything about the situation and the shelter director and county judge executive are related.  The inmate, after several months of trying, had to go higher up the ladder (the State of Kentucky) and now it is finally being investigated by the State.  The Animal League Defense Fund is also presently investigating.
It aired on Louisville's Wave3 TV on November 14 and again on Dec 1 after the meeting of the State Board of Vet Examiners.
We have a Facebook page "Guardians of Taylor County Animal Shelter".  Please check it out.  There is a lot of additional information on there.  We have also put a petition on regarding changes that we hope will be made immediately and I would sincerely hope that you would help us sign the petition.  You don't have to live in KY to sign this.
This particular shelter does not even advertise the animals on Petfinder.  Their website has not been updated since 2006.  I think you all get the big picture...they flat don't care.  The  innocent animals that end up at that shelter are doomed to die a horrible death.  Very, very few get adopted.  They don't allow volunteers to even help out there anymore.  We can only assume they don't want anyone to see what goes on there.  I would appreciate anyone who would to please sign this petition.  Time is of the essence.  Thank you all so much.  Please feel to PM me with any questions.  The link to sign the petition is as follows:
