ARTICLE II.—Object.—This Society shall have for ... more »its object the promotion of pomology, arborculture, floriculture, and gardening. ARTICLE III.—Membership.—The membership of this Society shall consist of four classes, viz., active, associate, annual honorary, and life honorary. The active membership shall consist of persons practically engaged in fruit culture, forestry, floriculture, or gardening, who shall be admitted to life membership on payment of a fee of $5 at one time; to associate membership by the payment of a fee of $1 annually. The honorary members shall consist of such persons as may be elected at any meeting of the Society by a two-thirds vote of the members present, and shall have all the privileges and benefits of the Society, except thost of voting and holding office, which privileges shall belong exclusively to active members and to associate members who have been members of the Society for twelve months and who shall have paid their second annual dues. ARTICLE IV.—Officers.—The officers of this Society shall be a president, first and second vice-presidents, secretary, treasurer and board of directors of seven members, said board consisting of the officers enumerated in this article, excepting a secretary, and three additional members. The officers, with the exception of the secretary, shall be elected by ballot at the annual meeting of the Society in January. The secretary shall be elected by the executive board. The term of office of these officers, with the exception of directors, shall be for a period of one year, commencing on the first day of June following.
