The authors are Barb and JC Hendree., I got "Of Truth and Beasts" at the library and it looks really good. But I see it's third in a series, and in fact, this book is third in a second series---there's "The Noble Dead Series One", with about 4 books, then there is "Noble Dead Series Two," with three books including this one. I usually want to read a series in order, but the library does not have a single one of the others (GAH---what sense is that?!?) Are these books more or less stand-alone, or is it really necessary to read them in order? (like George RR Martin's FIre and Ice, IMHO, is absoluitely necessary to read in order, but many other series it's not so important.) |

i read the first six Noble Dead books before getting bored with it and giving up on the series. they were definitely not stand-alone and better to read in order, so i would guess that would also be true with the second series. |

I have read the first six, also, and you need to read them in order. (The first six complete the first Noble Dead series. As far as I know. The sixth book did resolve all of the storylines that were ongoing from the first six books.). I enjoyed the story, but overall, I thought the series was too long. It is one of those series that ought to have been wrapped up in less books. I have the first 2 of the second series (there are 3 so far, of the second series), but I have not read them yet. The second series is a spin off of the first, with characters from the first, but it is not a continuation of that first series. My understanding is that it is a new series, same world, some continuing characters but not the main chars. from the first series. Last Edited on: 3/25/11 8:33 PM ET - Total times edited: 2 |

I started the Noble Dead series, read about half the book and gave up. Too many wasted words. Suggest you borrow one to see if it suits you. |

I've read all the Noble Dead books and really enjoyed them. I would definitely recommend reading them in order.

I zipped right through the first 3 but I'm getting bogged down about a third of the way through Traitor to the Blood. I was wondering if it's just me or has the series hit a slow point. |
