I just read Cleopatra's DaggerCarole Lawrence,  It takes place in 1880 New York and features a female journalist who longs to be a crime reporter.  She and a friend find a body wrapped like a mummy and thus begins her quest to find a killer who is obsessed with myths of Egypt.

Finished The Holywell Dead (Chesterfield, Bk 3)Chris Nickson, the third in this historical series set in 1364. John the Carpenter is worried about the plague and the coroner again ordering him to help find the person or persons responsible for killing the local priest.  This is well-written and the character and times come to life.

Just finished The Invisible Woman by Erika Robuck in the wee hours this morning. This is a fictionalized account of Virginia Hall, who was an absolutely fascinating SOE agent in occupied France during WWII. Fast paced with lots of interesting characters mostly based on real people in Hall's life, I really enjoyed this one and finished it in one sitting.

Hi, guys!  Sorry I've been MIA all month.  I hope everyone is well.  Where's REK and Carolyn?  Everyone must be cramming all they can into the last month of summer break.

I've been reading Sacajawea by Anna Lee Waldo for quite a while.  It's quite the tome, and I haven't had a ton of time to read this month.  I'm a little over halfway through.  It's not as good as I thought it was going to be, but it's not bad.  I am still technically listening to The Big Rock Candy Mountain by Wallace Stegner, but I haven't listed in over a month.  Too distracted by podcasts and some TV watching.  Hope to get back to it soon.
