Imagine going through life being scared...
Never trying something new because either a.) you're comfortable or b.) you hate not knowing what's going to happen next. Yep. That's me. Although I have done some courageous things... like sang in a symphony hall IN FRONT OF PEOPLE and I've given a speech IN FRONT OF PEOPLE... Which just so happens to be a MAJOR thing for me because I have a 'slight' case of stage fright, haha... But never have I quit a job to do something that I really wanted to do... Nor have I sung in concert.
Oh, how this overwhelming feeling of fear kills me softly inside!!! The things that I WANT to do or am MORE THAN CAPABLE of doing are not done because I am scared to STEP OUT ON FAITH!! UGH!!

But I read somewhere once that 'You gain strength, courage, and confidence from every experience which makes you stop, look FEAR in the face, and do that which you THINK you cannot do.'

So I guess is really is 'mind over matter' then huh??

I was scared to write but this helps me. We are all in this together.

Courage comes in lots of different size and shapes of packages. Trust the force!

This is me exactly!! Well worded. Here I am stuck for 15 years when my heart or head isn't in it but I'm comfortably unhappy.

Kristen, Wow...interesting musings. I quit a job of 18 years to move to a different state and pursue a master's degree. It was very scary, but in a year I'll be finished and am so excited about the future. Your writing describes how I felt to a "t". Never be afraid to go for your dreams...squelch the fear, however many times it takes!
