The Blood Gospel: The Order of the Sanguines Series-James Rollins and Rebecca Cantrell Just finished reading this one. I've always been a James Rollins fan but not a Vampire fan. Well, I must say this has changed that a bit when it comes to Vampires. Rollins has always been a master of the thriller with DaVinci code type twists, turns and clues. Teaming up with Rebecca Cantrell, a "Vampire Type Tale" writer is great collaboration. Here you have a female archeologist, a highly trained US soldier and a....get this....a warrior Catholic priest that just happens to be a vampire (actual there is an entire order of his type "The Sanguines". They get into a fight with the bad vampires over the search for a lost gospel, this one written in the blood of Christ. Read the description in the Goodreads link above. This was a good one! -RD |

I am a huge Rollins fan; have all his books, read most at least twice. But I did not like this one nearly as much, not much at all, and I'm trying to remember why (had it on pre-order so it's been a while). Did it venture more into romance territory? I also more recently read the sequel (from the library, this time), and thought it was much better. |

Some Romance; more than usual for Rollins, but I'm sure the romance stuff was written by her along with the Vampire stuff. -RD |

James Rollins writes fantasy under the name James Clemens. I really enjoyed his series about witches. Starts with Wit'ch Fire. I have no idea of Cantrell wrote the vamp stuff or not but Rollins is no stranger to the supernatural. Last Edited on: 2/12/14 2:38 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

wow, I never knew Rollins wrote those w'chfire books. I have them on my kindle; got them a long time ago but can't remember much about them. I'll have to check those out again. I'm thinking I never even finished or read them all. I love paranormal (not all paranormal, but what I think is good), and I love Rollins, but somehow when he mixes the two those books have never quite grabbed me. |
