This was one of the most entertaining books I've read in while! It is the story of a boy growing up in the 80s and early 90s. I found the references to the era very comic and had a bit of late 80s nostalgia!! Anyone who did not fit in will be able to relate to Kiran, the little boy who does not quite fit in with his American school or Indian family members. It reminded me a little of David Sedaris's "Me Talk Pretty One Day", at least the child part but with a Punjabi twist!
