Hi all, I just learned today that I have diabetes. My sugar levels, while higher than they should be, are not too high that I need medication. My doctor suggested I try a low glycemic diet and come back in 12 weeks for another test. Can anyone recommend any books. Diet, cooking, anything at all. Thanks, Diane |

I 'm sorry about the diabetes, but you can get a handle on it if you're careful. A good book I found is: The NO S DIET by Reinhard Engels and Ben Kallen ISBN# 978-0-399-534041 Hope this helps. Vicki |

I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Coming in late, but I highly recommend Dr. Bernsteins Diabetes Solution. A friend of mine is one of his patients. Dr. Bernstein practices what he preaches and my friend has normal blood glucose readings. |

Thank you. I'm reading whatever I can get my hands on right now. And changing my diet, of course. |
