As I started this book, it seemed to be very slow in revealing the story line. The further I read, the better it got. I was fooled from the beginning to the end. Just as I thought I understood what was going on, I was surprised. Goddard did a great job with a simple premise.
Loved it.

Book Description:
When two con men, traveling to England in 1931 aboard a transatlantic liner, decide to fleece a wealthy heiress, they become enmeshed in a deep and dangerous mystery involving betrayal, deceit, and intricate political machinations.
My Review:
Robert Goddard is one of my all time favorite authors. He is the master of writing mystery and suspense books that are very hard to put down. His books are always intricately plotted with well-developed characters. I love the fact that in this book the conmen end up being preyed upon. After many twists and turns, the ending was a bit of a surprise and all the loose ends were tied up nicely. I look forward to reading another Goddard book soon. I would highly recommend his books to those who like mystery thrillers.
