ABOUT THE AUTHORS Margaret Drever FCPA BCom (UWS), Grad Dip Educ (UTS), MEc (UNE), PhD (UNE), is an accounting lecturer at Southern Cross University, Coffs Harbour. She is currently Vice President - Small Enterprise Association of Australia and New Zealand (SEAANZ) and a Vice President of NSW CPA Australia, with Liaison for SME Committee and Chairperson for Universities Liaison Committee portfolios. She is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. Her research interests focus on small business financial management issues, entrepreneurship and accounting education. At the yearly CPA Australia/Charles Sturt University\'s Accounting Educators\' Forum she had held workshops on accounting theory, mentoring and accounting issues. Prior to academe, Margaret worked as an accountant for Boral Limited and was a Director of a small engineering company. Patricia Stanton PhD (Newcastle), B.Comm (Hons 1, Newcastle), B.A.(Sydney) and Dip.Ed (Sydney) is currently a senior lecturer in financial accounting at the University of Newcastle, NSW. She has published widely in international journals such as Accounting Auditing & Accountability Journal, Australian Accounting Review, Corporate Communications, An International Journal, and Accounting History. Two of her papers have won international best paper awards. Her current research interests are focused on the value of current reporting practices, including those of not-for-profits and government. Sue McGowan BAcc (SAIT), MCom (UniSA) and Grad Certificate in Higher Education (QUT) is currently an accounting lecturer at the University of South Australia in Adelaide. Her research interests focus on accounting education and internationalisation. ABOUT THE CONTRIBUTORS Jean Raar BBus GIAE, GDipED Vic Coll, MAcc, Phd RMIT is lecturer in accounting in the School of Accounting, Economics and Finance at Deakin University, Melbourne. Her current teaching responsibilities and research activities are centred on environmental accounting, management accounting, accounting for small business and financial accounting theory. Stella Sofocleous is Lecturer in the School of Accounting and Finance at Victoria University, Melbourne were she was appointed after gaining experience as a public accountant and as a teacher of accounting at secondary schools. She has had extensive teaching experience at tertiary and postgraduate levels for over 20 years, specialising in financial accounting, public practice and technology, taxation law and practice and auditing. Stella has postgraduate qualifications in education, a Masters in Accounting from Victoria University and a PhD from RMIT University. Her PhD provides an insight into specific sustainable forestry practices such as accounting, taxation and regulation and the sustainability of Australian forests. She is a fellow CPA with taxation specialisation, a fellow member of the Taxation Institute and a member of the Victorian Institute of teaching. Stella has spoken at many conferences and seminars and published her research in Australia and internationally and has received awards for excellence in education. Tom Ravlic is Policy Advisor, Financial Reporting and Governance at the National Institute of Accountants and has more than a decade of experience analysing and commenting on the accounting profession, the corporate environment and accounting standard setting.« less
