I was hoping more narrative from MFK Fisher, as I love cookbooks, and reading about cooking and food (often more than I like the act of cooking itself- haha!)Most of this is a small narrative about the group of foods, be it vegetables, poultry,etc. with some recipes for each catagory. An older book, it is dated but in a good way, I think.
