There were a few twists early on that kept the reader guessing but it all got a little tiresome after a while. Her regular nice detective MacDonald is missing here, replaced by a pair of Scotland Yard men with differing methods of solving cases. And there is a coincidence that leads to the possibility of solving the whole thing, which was sort of a stretch.
