I spend a lot of time in Myrtle Beach, and as a local, this author gets the vibe of it down pat. As a main character, Clark is likeable, but I'm hoping his story is fleshed out a little more in future books.
I'm not usually a fan of the main character doing their own thing, investigating and not telling the Police anything. Clark starts out this way, and I almost stopped reading, but eventually the Detective realizes he can be helpful and lets his nosy nature help her.
There were a lot of suspects and the author does a good job of throwing different leads out there. I found the ending a bit too " gather everyone around the fire to find out the murderer", but in the end it was a good read, and I would read more from this author and this series.
