Bree is investigating a supposed suicide that is found to be a murder. The slew of suspects include the husband, the sister, and the boss. Another murder causes more questions and inconsistencies in suspects stories. Things aren't adding up and Bree is frustrated trying to sift through the evidence. New leads put her and Matt in danger and it hits too close to home while also bringing them closer together. A very twisty mystery that I couldn't solve.

When Sheriff Bree Taggert investigates a car abandoned near a bridge, she finds the body of a woman in the water below. At first it is thought to be a suicide, but the autopsy shows that Holly Thorpe was dead long before going into the river. Bree and her investigator, Matt Flynn, interview various people in Holly's life, finding numerous individuals who had a reason to want Holly dead.

This is another excellent entry into the Bree Taggert series. Usually, I have a list of suspects that I eliminate one by one as I work my way through the mystery. In this one, I just kept adding suspects and not subtracting them. Holly and her husband fought constantly to the point where she walked out on him. She also had a volatile relationship with her sister. A co-worker may have been stalking her. And everyone knew about her illicit relationship with her boss. I was having a hard time narrowing down my choices when a twist at the end of the book left me shocked.

I am enjoying the Bree Taggert series. Her relationship with her family is growing closer every day. We also see forward movement in her relationship with Matt. Overall, this is a very strong book in this series. My rating: 4.5 Stars.

I think is a good series, however, as in many series sometimes it can get a little boring. It wasn't so much 'boring' as it was 'wordy', at times a lot of pages were just words of 'thoughts' etc and I skipped a lot of those and moved on to the next installment of the actual story,
So--the actual turned out to be a well written who done it with a twist I didn't see coming.
I read it in one day.
