A very engaging story that I found hard to put down. The premise of the book, and the actions of both the heroine and the hero's sister seemed highly unlikely for women in that era, but all was forgiven by me because of the delightful characters. There was some humor, but nothing too silly or over the top, and an interesting mystery. The romance between the two protagonists is nicely developed. The backstories of the secondary characters made me want to read more about them too. I think I may have avoided this author because of the overly cutely titles of her other books, but I'm glad I picked one up finally.
