This paperback sized book includes illustrations and written descriptions. There are explanation to the signs to act as memory aides as well as helping to clarify what is happening in the signs. Some of the illustrations are not very clear but the descriptions make up for it. The phrases in the back of the book are sometimes shown in ASL format and sometimes in English word order. Overall this is a decent book for someone wishing to learn ASL.
