This book is the second in a series. It is an end-times scenario - this one written from the Christian understanding of a "pre-millenial rapture of the believing Church", which takes place very early in volume one and then continues on to start tracking the events happening to the "left behind", both people who thought they were believers and those who were definitely never believers in the Christian Church.
The authors introduce several new characters, however I found that movement of the early part of the book was a bit slow and therefore did not keep my interest as well as the first. I can NOT blame the author, merely myself and my memory. After speed re-reading Genesis, it was easy to go back to the beginning of Exodus and enjoy it as much as I enjoyed volume 1.
This being said, I strongly reccomend that if you want to read the series, do yourself a favor and read them in order and with as little time lapse between as possible.
The series does contain descriptions of violence in keeping with the book of Revelations but in all honesty, not more than what anyone could see on television or in the movies of the 20th and 21st centuries.

Just finished this book.It was pretty slow moving for awhile, almost gave up on it.A book has to keep my interest from the very beginning or I tend to quit reading it.However it did pick up about half way through the book.If you like End-Time scenarios then you will probably like this.
Excellent action! Christians stand as beacons in a world of false hope!
