one of the better books i've read by Baxter, and i've read quite a few. It is harrowing and sombre, and full of adventure, and the kind of time-spanning speculative fiction that is what Baxter does best. The characters are many and compelling, the questions interesting and scary, and the answers are both resolved and left up in the air. Highly recommended.

Wow. This is the first story I've read by Stephen Baxter and it was great.

If you like 'end-of-the-world' stories, grab this one.

The water is rising, government downplays its severity and it only gets worse.

The real question: Can humanity survive? Maybe....
