For those open to expanding their understanding or experience of the Sacred or the Divine or whatever title you would choose, this book of "glimpses" is a treasure. Rupp has selected titles, images, names, metaphors for "God" from major religious traditions, scriptures, theologians and poets and writers (religious and non), and includes a brief ten-line prayerful reflection on one for each day of the year. She documents clearly her sources and the framework from which she personally approached this work. I enjoy using it as I begin my day, then rereading the passage at bedtime and considering if any new responses -- emotional or intellectual -- percolate out for me from a day of experiences.
