Loved this book! Great characters, I loved Benita, Chiddy and Vess.

This was a fascinating book describing Earth's first contact with a peaceful alien race, called the Pistach, through a lone Earth woman named Benita, an abused middle-aged mother living in New Mexico. The offers an interesting look at various human cultures through the eyes of the Pistach's envoys to Earth, giving the reader a lot of food thought throughout the book.
The Pitasch are not the only aliens interested in establishing relations with humanity, and these other alien races are fuzzy, friendly ETs--their interest in humanity is much darker.
The Pistach want to help humanity get rid of these other aliens, but a crisis on their home planet threatens both races. Benita comes up with a solution that might save the day.....but only time will tell.

Another great tale from Sherri Tepper! This one has a great sense of irony and humor. I highly recommend it!
Great science fiction.
Interesting concept and some of the things the author has the aliens do makes me cackle, but poorly written. Many of the characters are cariacatures and I swear to god, Ms. Tepper, if everyone murmured as much as the characters in your book do (IT'S ON ALMOST EVERY PAGE!) we'd be asking them to speak up constantly.
Benita is chosen by Chiddy and Vess, alien ambassadors, to introduce their message of peace to the U.S. government. Loads of political and feminist commentary in this one, highly entertaining, and often funny.
