Hi everyone!!! I am a HUGE fan of the show Ghost Hunters on Sci-Fi (they are more commonly known as TAPS). I was wondering if anyone could recommend any books that are similar to what they do? Go out and investigate hauntings, but to disprove them? Probably stretching it a bit trying to find something like that but thought I would ask anyway...thanks so much!! Keri

I ghost hunt as a hobby.

Three titles that I have on my bookshelves and have referred to several times:

The Field Guide to North American Hauntings by W. Haden Blackman

Haunted Hotels by Robin Mead

and a national directory...

Haunted Places by Dennis William Hauck.

(sorry, can't part with these! :P)

Happy Hauntings...

Well,we loved Ghost Hunters too but we have been put off by this past season.I also have read Grants myspace page and they kept saying how the season would be continued this past June and then they had a few new shows. And I thought the last few shows were awful anyway:( It would be better if they would adress the issue instead of leading fans along and then leaving tehm dissapointed.I did read that Brian WAS asked to leave teh show but of course they won't say why.

What does TAPS stand for?  Or does it not stand for anything?  Someone has to ask these silly questions, and it might as well be me.

You can go to abovetopsecret.com and post questions for Steve and Tango. They are doing an interview with the mods there. The thread for the questions is in the paranormal investigations forum. Its a register site so if you want to ask questions you'll need to register but you can look at the forums without registration ... I think.

Anyone watch TAPS when they did the Crestent Hotel in Eureka Springs? I went on there ghost tour and have stayed there, I even have a pic of my son on the autopsy table in the basement! That place is really a strange place.

I am a fan ot GH since they first began.  The remaining new shows are supposed to pick up this Wedneday, and I am hoping they rerun the last episode (Sharon Tate house) because my town lost power that night.  I'd like to see what the big controversy is (at least it's one over at the sci-fi forum) & judge for myself.  Many members over there swear that the show's evidence was visibly altered for the benefit of the owners who will be releasing some kind of movie about the house.   They also say that Brian is gone & so is Donna and Tango. It's been posted that Donna & Tango have already left to start their own investigation group. Don't really know how much is true because there seems to be alot of bashing at that site.  Can't wait to see the new shows though!

For those interested there is one non-fiction book (Night Stalks the Mansion) about a haunted house in PA.  This house was investigated by TAPS during one of their shows & they also included it in one episode where they rated some of their best haunts.  Also thought I'd mention that the GHs have a book coming out this October.
