In the book "The Complete Life's Little Instruction book" , the author listed "have a dog" as the second instruction

(the first is "Compliment 3 people every day")

I think this second one is a difficult one especially for people like me who have cats.  I find dogs hard to keep (at

least as comapred to cats)

What do you think?

They are definately different...I have 2 dogs and 1cat.  And while I love my cat, there's just something about the love and loyalty given by a dog that is simply unique.  If I could only have one pet, I would choose a dog.  While they are much more 'work', they also give you much more of a 'reward.'
