This is a great Western book.Although full of more cliches than a politician's stump speech, what with the trio comprised of a grizzled old buffalo hunter, his wet-behind-the-ears acolyte, and a loyal Indian brave, somehow this simple book deeply affected me. It's a bit of a "Moby Dick" tale, but unlike Ahab, the "Hider" isn't motivated by hatred or revenge, but simply a desire to hang on to a shred of an old West that's gone. Pick up this book and get a feel for the ways things were before the buffalo trails became interstates and the West was still a real place, This book is for you if you want to see the Old West in all it's glory.Well Here it is. I loved this story. I have imagined the old west in it's glory days. but here it is in a vivid picture.
