I found the information about living at the South Pole much more interesting that her story. Living at the South Pole is an extraordinary experience. She may be a doctor but she let her ex take her kids, she lives with her parents and has no direction for her life at the start of the book. I was disappointed in her and her lifestyle. She died in 2009 I believe.
