Not my favorite of her books but I did like that we were back to the hockey players! I also really liked that characters from previous books continue to appear. I think the main characters were so standoffish that it was harder to like them right off...but still I did enjoy it.

In Icebreaker Dedire Martin returns to the Blades. I love the NY Blades and want to always know what happens to the charcters when the book ends. If you have followed the series at all, its a must read.

Sinead seems a little too standoffish at first, but then Adam rarely talks. So it a werid begining, but quickly warms up. I love the Anthony Dante as the fairy godmother.

I really hated how up tight and anal Sinead was...I just wanted her to take a deep breath and relax the whole book. I had a hard time relating to her for that reason. Maybe a little too snobby for me.

Have been looking forward to another book in the series. Love the NY Blades series even though I know nothing about NY or hockey. I did have a few problems with the book but otherwise it was a very sweet story.

I loved the relationship between Adam and Sinead. I appreciated that they argued about real things and when they experienced problems it was believable. I think too many romances have frustrating "I'm not worth it, poor me" kind of plot lines to create problems in the relationship. This one wasn't like that at all. Of course I also adored all the old characters from the other books. I also found the lawsuit intriguing and wished Martin spent more time developing that.

The major thing I had against it was that it wasn't clear how exactly did Sinead help with the lawsuit. Maybe just one sentence to tie in Welsh and the DA in Philly. Don't want to say too much and ruin it for others. Another minor problem I had would only be relevant if you read the whole series. How was it that Sinead didn't know ViVi or Anthony? How is it possible that Sinead did not know her sister-in-law's (Natalie) half-sister? Minor detail I know.

Otherwise, it was a fun quick read. I don't this could be a stand alone book but it's just more fun if you had some background on all the side characters.

Meet Sinead OBrien a workaholic lawyer and Adam Perry new captain of the Blades. Sinead is so busy protecting her heart she fails to see what is in front of her. Adam is so focused on the game, he does not notice the woman in front of him.

Deirdre Martin stories are based around a fictional Hockey team called the New York Blades and a Pub called the Wild Harts. Most of her characters in her books interact through the different books. It is best to read them in order but not necessary. If you do read them in order you will get a background story of the characters you may meet in future books.
