Arabella Darracott's father had died leaving her alone in England and destined to join her guardian in Australia in 1855. Her ship wrecks off the coast on the coral reefs and leaves her stranded. She then must make her way thru Australia with the help of a stranger. Her relatives believe her to have perished in the ship wreck so no other help is forthcoming.

A good story with vivid descriptions of Australia and the early white settlements.
