I dutifully copied out the cookie recipes from the Hannah Swenson books and now cannot find them anywhere.

Does anyone have the one that the cookies are made using a cake mix?  I bought several cake mixes just for that and now I can't find the recipe!  I think it was in one of the earier books, maybe the 3rd or 4th?

Thanks in advance!

She doesn't have the recipes on her site.  =(

I found this one on bakebakebake blog, from Candy Cane Murder:

Combine 1 cake mix (any flavor, the book used lemon, I used caramel), 1 egg, and 2 cups of whipped topping (Cool Whip or generic equivalent). Mix until sticky, then roll into balls and coat with powdered sugar. Place on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 350°F for 10 minutes. Let cool on the cookie sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cook completely.

 Hope that helps,

Elizabeth

There's a recipe for Lemon Whippersnappers in "Candy Cane Murder" that used a cake mix.  Pretty much what Elizabeth just posted.  I'm looking through the other books to see if there are any other recipes using a cake mix.

  • 1 pkg lemon cake mix
  • 2 C Cool Whip
  • 1 large beaten egg
  • 1/2 C confectioner's sugar

Combine dry mix, Cool Whip, and beaten egg in large bowl.  Stir until well mixed.  Drop by teaspoon into the bowl of powdered sugar and roll to coat.  Place on a greased cookie sheet, 12 cookies to a sheet.  Bake at 350 for 10 minutes.  Let cool for 2 minutes, then move to wire rack.  Makes approximately 4 doz cookies.

Update:  I went through all of the books except "Strawberry Shortcake Murder."  I don't have that one.  This is the only recipe I found that uses a cake mix.  I could have missed one, though.
