From back of book: Maritime insurance investigation is Killinger's beat, and high living is his downfall. He charges exorbitant fees and spends it lufing beautiful women, keeping a Japanese houseboy, and harboring a Chinese junk in quiet Santa Barbara.
When Ejnar Mylius, owner of one of the great shipping fleets, loses a contest with the sea, Killinger is called in to assess the damage. But some very important people are also very interested. They come from Singapore, from Calcutta, from Sao Paulo. The come to inspect the cargo, and to kill, if necessary.
They make Killinger very nervous.
Gritty...fast paced...action packed!
