There is nothing "cozy" about Ann Cleeves in general or this tale of murder at an Arts Centre in particular. The victim was 18 and living with shy, socially backward Inspector Stephen Ramsay's first love, whom he hasn't seen in many years. Ramsay believes that Gabriella's reason for leaving her own home is central to solving her death, but no one will talk. What could it have been?
