This novel focuses on Esther's experiences as a new convert in Kirtland, Ohio. Though far from her home and family, she is quickly welcomed into the church. But even as she grows into the gospel, unexpected tragedy and personal heartache threaten all she holds most dear. It will require remarkable courage and faith for Esther to overcome her trials. Celebrate with Esther as she is baptized, and then witness through her eyes the building of the Kirtland Temple, the persecution of the Saints in Ohio, and the start of yet another journey. Along the way, Esther's own life is changed as she experiences the wonders of new life, the sorrow of death, the joy of conversion, and anguish as others fall away. Through each of these challenges, however, her own character is sharpened and refined, and her spirit is filled with courage and love.

Beautiful gift book.
