Interesting fictional retelling of the formation of the Knights Templar and examination of their beliefs about the life of Jesus and the usurpation of his teachings by what ultimately became the Catholic Church. So-so as a novel, with recurrent echoes of elements from the Arthurian Cycle, but fascinating as an informed speculation on the secretive Knights Templar.

For me this was a slow read. Seemed an accurate templar telling, but I did not find it at all exciting. Interesting, but it did not keep my attention.
