I've always said that they don't teach the right things in public schools. One of the biggest missing elements, in my opinion, is in teaching money basics. This book makes up for this omission. It covers everything from budgeting to investing to taxes to credit card debt. While nothing is covered in depth, it gives a great overview.
The only drawback, potential drawback, is that it is written from religious perspective. While not preachy or overtly endorsing one particular religious organization, some people may find the mixture of money and God disconcerting.

easy to follow with much practical information about managing money from a Christian perspective - book is set up in a way that would appeal to college students and those in age 20-40 especially... but can be used by anyone desiring to learn more.
