Another wonderful book by Pam Jenoff. This is a story about two women living in Paris, that both are affected when the Germans take over during the war.Helaine has been living with her parents as a sickly girl, who never leaves her house. One day she decides that there's more to see than just looking out her window. On her daily walks, she meets a cellist with the National Orchestra. The other is a woman named Louise who wants to do her part in the war effort. They are both involved in a tale about a necklace with two parts, an Until we meet again sentiment on each part. I learned not every Jewish person was put into a concentration camp. Some were housed in places like Helaine was-a gutted department store in Paris that was used for sorting and distributing goods taken from the homes of people forced out of their houses. I don't want to give too much away, but I will say it was a very interesting read! The author explains how she decided to write this story based on truth, and not fiction, and how she put the different pieces together.
